England's "Green" Park

In Cornwall, England, Britain has built a 101 million dollar theme park named "Eden"dedicated to educate the masses on global warming as well as to entertain, and so far it has been doing well. The theme park attracted more than 9 million visitors in its opening of 2001 and is one Britain's 20 favorite top new buildings of the past 20 years. Britain sets an example of how an awareness in climate change is being put in to everyday life and helping people learn to contribute to stop global warming. America has also tried to make a similar park called "earthpark" but has been denied approval for several years and has finally been set for opening in 2010. The reason why Earthpark had been denied is because of its profitability. I think that Britian's efforts to set an example is a good way to help a group of people whether it be a community, a country or the entire world, aim to reach goals that help the world become a better place.

Current Event 11/14-OJ Simpson

OJ Simpson finally put to trial

OJ Simpson who was aquitted back when he murdered his wife is finally being put on trial for various charges of attempted robbery, assault, kidnapping, conspiracy, and coercion. The primary reason on why he wasn't put on trial earlier was because of the entire jury being "biased" and was therefore an "unfair" trial, meaning that he was unable to be testified in court as the whole country knows of his acts and therefore is considered "biased" if they were to ever be a part of the trial for Oj. Recent crimes comitted by Oj left substantial evidence including 8 witnesses to be able to convict OJ.

Vocab Week 11

loquacious-talking or tending to talk much or freely; talkative; chattering; babbling

I would've chose myself as an image for this, but I chose the chatterbox image, as since I thought of chattering teeth with the definition of loquacious. =D

nihilism-
total rejection of established laws and institutions
(2) anarchy, terrorism, or other revolutionary activity
The picture depicts terrorism and how Osama Bin Laden has been on the topic of American news for quite some time.

Obligarchy-A form of government where the top, select few run the country
I chose facebook and myspace, as although it isnt a form of government, these two and a few others dominate the social networking market, and doesnt leave room for new websites.
